If a website’s organic ranking is low, the websites’ manager should be checking to see if the site needs some SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Keyword choices are one of the most important part of the SEO investigation. If content is King then keywords are the King’s advisors. Highly ranked keywords are essential to the success of a website. There are many ways to research keywords, through sites on the Internet to purchased software such as SEO Magic. How does one pick and choose? Here are some keyword research tips that hopefully, will be helpful.
You have to understand what ‘keywords’ are and figure out the most important keywords that would correctly represent your website. One way is to list out keywords on your own. You should also try and figure out which keywords your competitors must be using. This will require a bit of research on your part by supplying keywords and analyzing the search results. You should try different keywords which your competitors might be using and see where your competitors figure in the search results. After multiple such attempts you will be able to figure out why your competitors’ websites appear way higher up in the search results.
Do you have good quality links from other sites to yours? Are people bookmarking your website on social bookmarking sites and talking about you in social media? These things are measures of how relevant the marketplace sees your content. Good interesting quality content will be pointed to from a number of different sources.
